This is Cavanaugh

Cavanaugh is a music project / band from Borlänge, Sweden. Members are Marcus Aronsson, guitar, Jonas Nyström, vocals & keys, Martin Haglund, bass & additional guitars and Gabriel Frölin on drums. Cavanaugh was founded back in 2005, numerous tracks were written, disposed of and re-recorded with Martin winter 2008 - fall 2009.

Musical direction features riff based rock and catchy melodies in an overall pop style packaging. As of now we are in the rehearsal mode, trying to get a good set of tracks ready and hit the stages. Can't wait to see you out there!

Cavanaugh has finally made their entrance onto the magic music platform that is Spotify. Might sound like a small step to y'all but hey - for us, it's huge! As of now, only the 3 tracks from our 2009 promo are uploaded but more will come. Hope you enjoy and that our tracks will enlighten your playlists!

Studio session - again

"In the pale glow of his dual screen music workstation, Martin handled EQ, plugins and velocity curves with unparalleled skill." Seriously, we had another great studio session on Sunday. Too bad Gabbe couldn't join us very long due to some mysterious dinner obligation - but he showed up, gave us his two cents - which Martin quickly developed into a least a dollar. Next track is called "I am" and is due to be released somewhere early February. Stay tuned, folks!

Saturday studio session

Just a lil' shot from last Saturday: Gabbe being happy and Jonas looking rather skeptical / tired. We had a kick ass studio session though - cranked out our new track "Shallow" and also managed to lay down some new backgrounds as well as polishing some old tracks. Marcus the Carcass and Martin were equipped with digicams and managed to burn off a few in between takes.

New track - "Shallow"

Sorry it took so long... we've been busy with friends, family and all the glorious commercialism that is Xmas and the new year celebration. However, the new track named "Shallow" that we promised almost two months ago is finally done and uploaded. It's a slower, piano based track with a melancholy feel to it.

Finally a picture...

If this was on Montel, we'd call it "A rare moment of absolute togetherness." In our own site we simply call it "The Dudes". Jokes aside, we finally managed to get the band assembled for a studio photo session! It would have turned out even worse if it wasn't for the Photoshop wizardry of bass Martin. Hope you like it! Once our plastic surgeries are done, Martin might just need 4 hours - not 40.

New track coming soon

Hey y'all, we are currently making the final, finishing touches to our next track release named "Shallow". It's a slow tune, just vocals and keys. We'll be busy in the studio end of this week cranking it out... if all goes well and we steer clear of the pig flu. Shot, anyone? Stay tuned people, and thanx for your support!

(The picture chosen for this release was taken by Jonas at the beach front of the small village of Itacuruçá, Brazil. It was really shallow there, by the way.)

New release: "Come look for me"

Hi there guys, we just uploaded a new track named "come look for me". A typical Cavanaugh joint with a somewhat rock / riff based body and a catchy chorus. We're slowly reaching the end of the process of building up a decent track base to be able to put a nice live set together... so, now we're one step closer...!
